EPIK HIGH PRESENTS MAP THE SOUL WORLD TOUR 2009. It was EPIK. It was by far the most intimate concert I’ve been to and I would probably call it a gig instead of a concert. By my estimation, there were no more than 700 people present and the hall was small enough that the atmosphere was incredible. See photos under the cut.

I took about 140 pictures so I thought displaying them in a slideshow would be best. I’ve put my favorite shots below for you to see and you can follow the links at the top and bottom to be taken to the Flickr page.

Before we start properly, can anyone guess what song they just finished performing when this shot was taken? The first person who guesses correctly on the blog will receive some…thing. It would have been nice to see more of the band and less of the hands, but I was somewhat limited by everyone pushing at me and the fact that we weren’t supposed to be taking pictures.

There will be a proper concert report posted up on KoME during next week, but for now I’ll just talk about a few of the highlights, in good old bullet form for your viewing pleasure:
- Kero One startled me a little with his half hour long set. I was so inspired that I bought his album.
- Epik High performed some of their old songs such as Fan, Fly, Love, Love, Love and One – this made me very happy.
- MYK really does have a great voice live and I have grown to appreciate him even more for his participation in the album.
- Two encores – nice.
- The perfect venue for the style and ‘feel‘ of the show.

I did manage to buy most of the merchandise available, including: white tour t-shirt, black tour t-shirt, tour towel, Kero One – Early Believers album, two mapthesoul buttons, and two LOST MAP #001 CDs.
