[Mark & Freda] 이태원 & 용산
May 4th, 2008
Another day, another trip to 서울, this time with Mark and Freda. Started by heading to their room in the hotel and grabbing some bits before sitting down for a quick coffee. We took the hotel bus to 이태원 and went to have some lunch at Suji’s.

We finished up there and I went to the tailors and bought a shirt and some cufflinks. I also picked up Remapping The Human Soul and Time for a good price :D We had to walk through a really snazzy underground which you can see pics of here, here and here. We walked to the War Museum where we saw, planes, tanks, helicopters, missiles and some giant soldiers. There was also a fake wedding ceremony going on which seemed rather random XD

We walked through the museum and onto 용산 where I took these two pictures to give you an idea what it’s like in there.
Insadong, Yongsan and Itaewon

Today has been a long day, so let me keep this short. I managed to take 19 photos this time which is a definite improvement on my previous scores.

We got to Insadong and had a look up and down the stretch of market road at the little shops selling every kind of trinket known to man.

Then we headed to the temple which I confess, I don’t know anything about really but I will update about it next weekend when I’ve been back with Mark and Freda and taken more pics with the Nikon D50.

We found this sweet little restaurant underneath the shops and a bowl of 비빔밥 each. It was perfect for warming us through before heading back out.

I have no real reason for showing this photo other than the sheer level of awesome is contains :D I hope you don’t mind the lack of details but I’m really tired. I did buy the following though:
- pair of D&G sandals
- a Tag Heuer watch [obviously not real :P]
- 1GB MicroSD card
- new headphones that look like orange Smarties :D
Seoul

Ok, so I failed at taking lots of pictures in Seoul today. My excuse: the weather was bad and I was being shown around. I didn’t feel like being the tourist :P I took a few but they were limited to my time standing in front of the station before I went inside to wait for Mark and Freda. There was a Bennigan’s just to the right of the station which looked somewhat odd. I took this picture of Tim [a colleague of Mark's] using some awesome jam dispensing device where you snap it and then squeeze and the jam squirts out. Genius. Oh, and Mark took this one of Freda and I in Starbucks. I bought some stuff and decided a small video would be best. See below:
For the record, the Express Bus that I took was brilliant and so easy. Coming back was a little strange because I couldn’t see my stop until I was right on it so I had to rush down the bus to get off ^^” Makes it so easy to get into Seoul though so if I’m meeting people or people are coming to see me I know how to get there.
