Studying, ‘Incheon-Style’
October 12th, 2008

When I lived in my old apartment there was some building work going on near me and they had started to dig away the ground and plant some trees. At the time I guessed it was to make the place look a little less of a dump and true enough, they’ve made it into a really nice park. I had seen it last week but didn’t have my camera with me so I took it with me today to get some pictures. As you can see, I added the picture at the end as proof of my studying :P

I found this when I was walking along to the older park and I was quite surprised because I’ve never seen anything like this before and especially not of this size. I normally have no luck in capturing bugs and stuff close up but this one just sat still and looked angry at me XD I’m glad no-one was walking by because I must have looked like a crazy foreigner, snapping pictures of the floor. Anyway, it was about 4-5cm in length and quite exotic looking. I asked 진선 about it and she says she’s never seen anything like it o_O
[진선] Paddling in 광화문
September 7th, 2008

The pictures are great today so I’ll try to keep the writing down :) Met 진선 in Smoothie King and then we took the train to City Hall and walked to 광화문. We were both a bit hungry so we went to 봉추찜닭, a little restaurant and had 찜닭. It was really delicious despite my spoon and chopsticks attempting to foil my efforts at every turn.
The real reason we chose 광화문 was because we could sit by 청계천 and dip our feet in the water. Well as you can see from the pictures above and in the gallery, we did just that. It was gorgeous because there was a nice breeze and the water was a pleasant temperature. We spent a long time just sitting and catching up before we decided we needed some coffee. Onwards to A Twosome Place!
We both had coffee and yoghurt which we finished quite quickly. As we still felt lazy, 진선 whipped out her Nintendo DS and we played Mario Kart DS and listened to music for ages. We did really well actually and I was quite proud because it was my first time playing it :D

I was accused of choosing only the most embarrassing pictures of 진선 for my blog so I thought I would post some more of me, and more specifically, my ‘Smexy Alex Shoot’. It’s definitely one for the ladies ;) Oh, and 서영, if you want to get out of the relationship now after realising how unattractive your boyfriend is, it’s cool. I totally understand :P *crawls under the desk*

This deserves a bigger picture because, well it’s Epik High. And let it be known, that if I can nab another of these, Sandy, I’ll put it in the post for you ;)
2008 Super Triple Concert
June 16th, 2008

At the time of arriving home last night, my Nikon D50 contained 847 photos from the 2008 Super Triple Concert. After I got them into iPhoto I ended up with 315 because the lighting made it particularly difficult to get clear shots. I think I’m going to buy a new lens for my camera because I just need higher quality photos next time XD
Bright Sun-scapes
May 5th, 2008
I went out with the Nikon D50 today and decided to try out a few techniques I had read about on the Internet at the park nearby. I’m not that happy with many of them but they do look bright and pretty crisp which is good.

Next I’ll try and take some night shots. I’ll take my camera to work tomorrow and take the pictures on the way home when it’s supposed to be clear and cool.

Before I finish, here are the newcomers to my bedroom. At first I didn’t like the order but now I just love that the wall isn’t bare and I covered some mess above the thermostat ^^
First outing with the D50
April 20th, 2008
I decided to take the D50 out for a spin this afternoon because the weather was beautiful and I was hoping to catch the Sunday football again. As it turned out, the football wasn’t on and so I walked along to the park to take some pictures of flowers because that’s what people with SLRs do, right?

I just tried to find things that looked good and hoped it would translate into a picture. Luckily, there were a lot of flowers in bloom along the little road leading to the park and I didn’t have to actually enter the park.

Here are two other shots which I took while I was out. The fly on the left didn’t move for a good 30 seconds so it was pretty easy to capture and the dog on the right scared the hell out of me so I took it’s photo in revenge.
Myeong Dong
April 19th, 2008
I’m just back from my day out in Seoul, and more specifically, Myeong Dong. I met 진선 at the station and she had a gift for me :D I only had to unwrap one corner to know what it was…Pieces, Part One by Epik High ! I was totally shocked because we had been talking about going to buy it together and then she handed me a poster tube with the album poster inside o_O Here’s a picture of the poster on my wall.
Well after that we headed to the bus stop to get to Myeong Dong and do some clothes shopping. I told her about my poor shopping skills and she said she’d force me to make some decisions so we went into the Lotte department store and headed for the men’s department. We look around and I saw Litmus feat. FT Island and NII feat. 빅뱅. I ended up grabbing a load of t-shirts and a pair of shorts after a good look around and I was feeling pretty good. Then it was time to head to the streets…

Once again I apologise for the relative lack of photos but from an early stage I was carrying bags and was just lazy >> We had a look around the shops and I grabbed some sandals from ABC-Mart because it was hot and my K-Swiss were not helping. By about 1pm we were getting hungry so 진선 took me to a little restaurant/cafe for some lunch. We had 비빔밥 which was very tasty and perfect for the hot weather. After we finished we walked around a bit more and then went into Smoothie King to get a drink. And yes, I should have taken the picture before we had finished ^^”

I had banana and 진선 had pineapple smoothies by the way. We walked around a little more and then headed to Yongsan, before parting ways. It was a stunningly good day in terms of weather and company and I can’t wait to do it again :D

Oh, and the above picture was taken with my new Nikon D50 which I picked up at Yongsan with the help of 진선 translating and a very forgiving ATM.
Posters
April 8th, 2008
Finally all the posters have arrived and I put the last batch up this morning :) I assumed that the remaining ones would all be of a similar size but they were and as such I’ve had to just make do.

I’m really pleased with all of them actually and I think I’ll maybe try and get some more next month. I need to try and conserve my money for a new SLR camera and some clothes for Summer.

I also took this shot of the apartment building across the street from my window. I thought it looked quite cool with the sun settling behind it but I was slightly limited by my current digicam. I really think I want to be that person because I really like taking pictures and sharing them online and I always want to take better quality shots.
