Podcast [01]

April 12th, 2008

I present to you, my first podcast from Korea :D I used the nifty GarageBand to make it and it let me include chapters, artwork and URL links. Anyone who listens to podcasts on iTunes will know of this niftiness. I have included both .mp3 and .m4a versions for your listening pleasure, but be aware that the .mp3 version does not include the chapters, artwork or URL links. If you use iTunes then I definitely recommend downloading the .m4a version :)

Podcast [01] - .m4a / 27.7MB / 24:42 / 153kbps
Podcast [01] - .mp3 / 33.9MB / 24:42 / 192kbps
Please right-click and Save As :)

If you have any suggestions or comments regarding the podcast then please leave a comment. I want to do this fairly regularly and will be looking to refine the process.

I don’t remember if I mentioned buying a pillow in my last blog post but I did and so sleeping was much more enjoyable today :D As a result, I didn’t wake until about 10:30am and Makun at 11:30. We had planned to go out to the zoo today and so we got up, did the usual and then headed to the bus stop. I ended up taking about 60 photos and you can find them in the gallery along with the rest. Below is the tap dancing penguin but if you go into the gallery you’ll see little Tegoshi’s too ;D

Seeing elephants and tigers up close was pretty neat but we both agree that the reptile / amphibian house was the best. A lot of the stuff was really small and not really that exciting but there were some fat snakes, frogs and crocodiles. Unfortunately, they didn’t want people taking pictures so we couldn’t share the joy with you all.

After we finished at the zoo we headed over to Chisuka and went to a local CD store. I saw some Johnny’s stuff but resisted the urge to buy anything. To be honest, there’s not much I want at the moment but I still like to keep my eyes peeled. On the subject of music, I heard ‘So Beautiful’ by Big Bang on the radio at the zoo. It was so great to hear music I like on a radio because it just doesn’t happen at home xD I did buy some ear muff headphones for my iPod though which I was pretty happy about. I had been meaning to get a pair for a while but hadn’t bothered. Now I can look like a dork more easily while out and about.

Makun and I were planning on grabbing some yakuniku for dinner but it’s pretty cold outside and we have some food in the fridge so we’re going to stay in and get another podcast done. Thanks to all those that listened to the last one despite it’s randomness. We promise this one will be more structured and will have actual news to talk about.

The final bit of news is related to ‘Taiyo no Namida’ by NEWS. Normally I wouldn’t put that in this blog but seeing as I was here when the PV was released, I couldn’t help it. The song is the theme for the Kurosagi movie and as such, the PV is a prolonged trailer for it. I am guessing that another version will be released but I don’t know for sure or when it might happen. The single isn’t out until February though so there’s plenty of time. Anyone who hasn’t listened to it needs to go and do so now.

Not long after writing the earlier entry, Makun woke up it started the day for this entry. We both did our online things that one does in the morning and then headed out for some shopping for food and for Makun to show me around the local places. We headed out to a book store to have a look around and I was reminded how awesome book stores are in Japan. They’re just such appealing places and generally have music as well. I did see a lot of ‘Tohoshinki’ stuff which I took pictures of so that people could share my disgust >> We stopped off afterwards at ‘Pan de Coma’ for some buns and savory goodies. I had a Doraemon bun :D

Across from the book store was a Matsuya store which sells casual clothes. I decided to nip in on the off chance that there might be some RUSS-K stuff and…there was :D As you’ll see from the image below, I went for Massu’s t-shirt from the poster xD I was considering buying a jumper too but they were quite expensive and I thought I’d wait until later in the holiday before committing too much money. Plus, we’re going to the Johnny’s Store tomorrow…

After that splurge we headed to Makun’s university for him to check his mail and for him to withdraw monies. On the way back to the apartment, we went to another CD store and then to the supermarket to grab some nibbles. We dropped the shopping off at the apartment and headed round the back to the temple. It was nasty weather so there wasn’t really anyone there [read: no-one at all] but it was a nice walk. Back at the apartment we just chilled out and listened to music. Makun was in charge of the playlist and we got some good J-Pop goodness.

Around 7pm we decided we needed some food and headed for the local ramen restaurant. We had chicken ramen noodles which were awesome and made us feel fat :D Now I’m just writing this blog post…
